Well, Congress sealed the deal. The rebate is official. $600/person with income up to $75000 and $1200/couple with income up to $150,000, and $300/child. The IRS is supposed to start mailing the checks in May.

I was opposed to them doing this, actually, for larger economic reasons, although in my personal little economic world, the extra money will certainly be nice.

I agree with you. I have to say a large part of me is very excited about the money....which I will use mostly to pay off debt. Anything to getting us closer to our debt-free goal!

They should just send mine directly to my credit card company.

I also don't feel this is the best thing...more like putting a band-aid on the situation...but I'll be sure to get off my high horse long enough to cash the check.

I also Agree this is only a Current Fix , and that is why I wasn't Overly Excited about it.

BUT Really Who , Is NOT going to cash their Check and Use it?

With Our Family Of 6 humans and 4 animals - I am Sure that we will be Paying alot Of our refund Money to the Dentist , vet , Mechanic, grocery store, Pharmacy anyway
I am putting 1/2 in Checking , 1/2 in savings

So Yeah , we will be stimulating the economy with the things we need.

Yeah! our rebate will be going toward paying off the car loan. We're getting closer toward being debt free.

I can say that the money will come in handy in this house!

But for some reason I doubt I'll ever see that check! Is that crazy or what? I just feel like we are not lucky enough to get $1,500 in the mail.

If we do get that check it will go towards debt for sure. If all our cards are paid off buy then it will either go towards savings, paying off the house early or to remodeling.

I guess I 'll believe it when I see it!
