I use the Debit for most of mine too. But the CC does still get used mainly for Costco, gas, WW, and the phone bill. If we use it for just those things we still build rewards and can pay off the new balence while tackling the debt.

The CC Rewards worked out great this year we used them to help with christmas. As we gave out a few gift cards purchased with rewards points.

cash or out debit card i don't write checks very often because most of the stores around here just give you back your check so its a waste of paper.

Debit card; sometimes cash for very small purchases if I have any on me. I am simply stunned when I am at the grocer and someone pulls out a check. Of course, they still don't start writing the stupid check until everything is wrung up and they get the total...then they open up their purse, start looking for a pen...I want to scream.

I usually use credit cards and pay them off @ the end of the month.
It's safe, convenient and effective if you're financially responsible.
I don't like using my debit card, for if we get a fraudelant charge (again) it directly affects our liquid assets - I use discover's money instead and have fraud alert protection.
Plus, I earn cashback points so it's a win-win for me!!

We use our credit card for virtually everything and pay it off in full monthly. We earn cash back and it's easy to track our purchases.

I buy 95% exclusively (bills included) on my credit card. BUT, and this is very important to point out, we pay them off in full every month. We get 1-5% cashback on our purchases so it works for us.

If you have a budgeting problem or are not able to control your spending, I would not recommend this method. We just happen to be very good at controlling our spending.

This is what we do too. We have a card that gives us rebates on new vehicles, so we charge everything we can. We always pay in full each month - ALWAYS! I've read that using a credit card can cause people to spend more, but I don't think that's the case for us. We're typically very conservative spenders.

This is us too! We hardly ever carry cash. We find that we'll spend it faster that way.

We use debit card and cash. However it is too convenient to use the debit and so we have started taking out the amount of cash we need and using Dave Ramsey's envelope system. Not only does it hurt more to use cash (It really makes you think "do I need this?"), but we always know exactly how much money we have left until payday (something we didn't with the debit because sometimes it wouldn't go through right away and my hubby doesn't like to hand over receipts so I didn't always know about purchases).
