Which software program do you use to manage your finances? Hubby has been keeping up with ours for the last few years but I am taking them over now and want to know which program you think is best. TIA!

I'm a Quicken person myself, but I may not be the best person to ask since that's all I've ever used (since I was a teenager). My husband used Microsoft Money before we were married. As far as I know he liked it.

I don't use any program. I probably should... which I would like to add a question to this thread...
HOW DO YOU LIKE THE PROGRAM YOU USE?
WHAT ARE THE PROS & CONS?

I made my own spreadsheet program. It works out well for me. Before this I used Quicken.

I too Made My own SpreadSheet which worked well until I wanted to do more with it.
The big plus I see to using a Program is you can easily see Category based Spending and you can also do forecasting.

I use Money but think that money or Quicken are both excelent programs. I would go with Quicken if I had buisness accounts. It seams that more programs are connected to quicken things like up loading the information from your account to turbo tax or down loading bank statements to quicken.

They have very similar features for me the real reason that I chose money was that it came with my computer and I didn't have to buy it. Now that I have 4 plus years of data into it I am really not interested in switching

I am using Crown Financial's "Money Map" software. They have 2 options.. one is a program that stays on your computer, and the other is web based. I really like it, because it easily allows us to use the envelop system. Since our envelopes are all "virtual" we are easily able to use our debit card instead of cash. Also, the customer service behind the program is fantastic. I had an issue early on, and they were not only able to tell me why it happened, & how to fix it..

If you have any specific questions let me know, and I can try to answer them for you.

Edited to say, I can't think of any cons... And, if you would like to look at it... there is a downloadable demo at Crown.org

Thanks everyone. I'll think I'll probably just go with Quicken. DH has used it and I'll have some in home support, if I have questions. lol

We use the spreadsheet method. Mint.com will let you see spending by category if you link all your accounts.
