Well... this just...sucks.

I've had to wait to pay some bills (they aren't due till the 20th and later) because of the balance in our account. My husband just brought his check home and I did the math... after all the bills are paid..we're going to have $160 left. That's only for two weeks till he gets paid again but still. That just seems like so little... at least we have 2 weeks worth of groceries (well for dinners at least) already. But my husband is bad about little purchases here and there. A soda or sandwich from the store for his lunch, or something from the gas station in the morning etc.

Technically one bill is due after he gets paid next but it's only the day after, so the money won't even be in the account yet. I know a while back he did whatever so that it was automatic deposit but... apparently it hasn't kicked in yet??

I think I migh do that actually. And when he does go to put his check in the bank I'm going to need to talk to him first. Normally when he does that he has them give him X amount in cash (usually $100 at least) so that he has cash when we need or he "needs" something before the money has really gone through.

We have been there! All too often I would tell him point blank "There is $$X left in the account until your next payday, we have NO money to spare" and then give him $10 each week for drinks and what-not.

I havce found when I spell it out clearly for DH he is really good about not buying anyhting. If I don't tell him I start seeing the $8 lunches pile up; needless to say I now keep him REALLY informed )

Good luck! You'll do fine!
