Our Dollar Tree had some good size bags of candy. I bought a bunch of Tootsie Rolls, Tootsie Pops, Blow Pops as well as stickers, pencils, erasers. Not sure how many kids come by as its our first Halloween here. Don't want to run out!! Also got a good deal when Walgreens had buy 1 get 1 - then added a coupon so less than $1 per bag of candy bars (Now I have to forget where I stashed them so they are still around come Halloween!!)

we bought the mini bags of popcorn at BJ's and i think it was a good deal but if you have a ton of kids I sugest you just buy the cheap candy and forget about what they think. We cant all afford to give out choclate. skip the dollar store, I know it seams cheap buy the bags are smaller so you just have to buy more.

Try CVS, although the deal ends tomorrow. When you purchase $15 worth of Hershey's products you earn $7 in extra care bucks to spend on a later purchase. There's also a rebate form (I found this at Kroger) for $5 when you purchase any combo of Hershey's and any craft supplies. So for $3 after rebates I bought 6 bags of snack size bars, 2 bags of jolly ranchers and 4 movie theater style boxes of candies. Good deal!

I don't have a Kroger, but have a CVS and will stop by there. Thanks.

Thanks for the tips on the candy. I'm not sure we'll get any trick or treaters this year. Our street doesn't usually do it, but I'm hoping to change that.

I buy my candy as I see it on sale. So we don't eat it all, we buy a few bags for ourselves. Don't forget to buy some little dollar store party favors - some kids are allergic to chocolate or are diabetic!

Last year I got packages of 12 (I think) pencils for .10 a package. They were a good deal and they last to give out this year
