I won't allow the issue of the economy to affect who I vote for because no candidate can fix everything they promise. Promises are empty because there have been too many people who promise things to get votes and then do what they really want after they're elected. It's true that too many people vote for someone based upon 1 issue - you do have to look at the whole package and then decide who is the least threat to the country (lol).

The economy is REALLY important to me. I don't believe we are in a full recession, (maybe a growth recesssion), but we won't know until we our out of it. Also, since i am a stay at home mom, I do try my best to play the markets. I took most of my money out of Bonds since they are getting slaughtered, but plan to keep some in my stocks, and mutual funds. If Obama or Hillary get in, I will switch most of my money into foreign market funds in China, or Europe though. I am really afraid of Obama gets in because he wants to raise so many taxes (like lifting the social security taxes past 97k). Obama is going to be the next Kennedy, Hillary is going to murder our country with socialized healthcare, and McCain is to damn old and wishywashy. No stand out this year.

I'm voting for Ron Paul, economics is just one of the reasons he has my vote.

Obama and Clinton would never get my vote as they are pushing for socialism. McCain is just another democrat in republican clothing, so he's actually worse than Obama and Clinton, so I'll take a pass on him as well.

Huckabee might be an option with his Fair Tax approach, but I'm afraid that this would just cause there to be a huge blackmarket issue as theft would increase in avoid the consumption taxes.

Yeah, Ron Paul is the only one who can say his record backs up his principles. Too bad we will have to write him in come November.

The frontrunners are real politicians with records that prove they say one thing and do another. Most people will vote either one issue or the lesser of two evils. The country seems to do a little better with gridlock, one party controling the White House and another controlling congress. Well, at least then our descent is gradual.

Anytime you have legalized aggression(government) the trend will be towards more state power and less freedom. As long as there are favors to be bought there will be corporatism.
