You know what I like about Wikipedia? It is a good starting point and if you're really into the subject, you can move on from there. Besides, it is almost always the first thing that pops up whenever you goggle something.

The obvious factor of the economy/abortion connection is that many women who have abortions simply cannot AFFORD a child. They might need to finish school, or they might be addicts, or they might be trapped in an abusive relationship with other children and can't make their way out of it with another child. So economics is often a reason why many women abort.

As far as "is there an issue without a economic connection" - how about "under God" in the pledge of allegiance? Gay marriage? Legalizing gay marriage would boost the economy, IMO. Cities would get additional fees from marriage licenses, and then everyone connected to the wedding industry would get a boost - reception halls, caterers, photographers, stationary, florists, etc.

Wikipedia isn't proof, but it is a great way to get a quick answer to what something is about. It is world's better than mainstream media.

Learning how to read between the lines is important.

Politics is about economics! Too bad politicians don't know economics.
