I shop all year, picking up great clearance items. Last year, I started right after Christmas! I got slippers from Victoria's Secret for $4/pair! I bought several for all DH's female cousins, as well as my best friend. It's the best time to pick up stuff for really cheap. I haven't started yet this year, because money has been really tight, but I'll probably pick up a few things here and there. The next best time to clearance shop is in last August, early September when most stores will be clearancing out things and making room for the holiday stuff. Toys always go on clearance around this time!

I Start My Shopping December 26th For The Next Christmas. They Always Have The Best Sales At This Time. I Spend Less, And I Am Way Ahead. I Hate When I Go To Get A New DvD That Just Came Out And It's Four Days Before Christmas And Its Gone! Then I Have To Find It Online, Etc. Etc. I Have To Be Prepared. If Not I Get All Stressed, And Moody! No One Wants That!

I save every month for Christmas, I like to be done shopping before Thanksgiving. I can't stand the crowds and low selection in December! But I shop all year for stocking stuffers, relative's gifts etc.

I also buy throughout the year. I have several gift totes that I throw everything into and I keep a detailed list in the diaper bag so I know what I have for everybody and for birthdays and such.

This year I made out BIG TIME at the January Old Navy clearance sale. I bought a fleece pullover for every adult on our Christmas list for $3 each. I'll add another small gift and the adults are done.

I buy misc gifts throughout the year to be given at Christmas or as stocking stuffers, or at Easter or birthdays (or whenever a gift is needed). Some things are just good for me to buy when they are on clearance. My girls never get tired of craft supplies, markers, crayons, playdough, hair pretties, stationary, books, etc. So I snatch these things up whenever they are on clearance...I have a tote full of such things that I use to fill up the Easter baskets and Christmas stockings. It saves a lot of money.

I also have a Christmas Club savings account that I add to each month. I use this money for misc last minute items in December. DD usually makes a list around Thanksgiving, so I use it for her list items and for my DH. Also any last-minute unexpected gift needs.

I will be buying all year. I'm also saving each month for a Christmas. If I end up not needing the Christmas stash I will transfer it to savings at the end of the year.
