It's Friday and I for one could use a little dreaming....

What would you do if you won 1 million dollars tax free (s oyou net the entire mil.) What would you do with it?

I would hire someone to take care of finances for us (B/c DH wouldn't quit work so we'd still have his income), We would pay off all our CC's and the car. Then we'd go on a family vacation to Disney World.

THEN we would sell this house and buy another out by my parents in my dream neighborhood. (It's a nice under 400k neighborhood closer to the beach (so I would NOT spend a mil on a house). I'd pay off my parents and my brothers house, and offer to help out inlaws with the stipulation that they quit working and move south

After that of course we'd make sure a good amount is set aside for the kids~ college, weddings and a "get started" fund.

Then I'd go shopping....have to furnish the new house
Oh and I'd get my butt on Nutrisystem and hire a personal trainer

So c'mon dream a little...what would you do?

I would be totally selfish!

It would include house updates...either level this one and build new on the site or maybe just add on here. We would also update the outbuildings and build additions that create the "picture postcard farm" ~ red barn, white fence, etc.... We would buy the house across the street for guests so it was easy for them to stay if needed. We would buy the animals we wanted and invest in the business to get us off the ground. Brent would be able to quit his outside the home job, and we would start an additional small shop/bar/ ??? in town. Also put some away for kids and future.

And honestly we would also most likely spread the wealth (cause I just can't be *THAT* greedy ). I would help my mom and Brent's parents out, and then possibly pass some on to the siblings (unsure of amount ~ but it would be fun to surprise them with something).

That was fun ~ I needed that this morning.

I would pay off our debt and have 3 or 4 more kids and then, of course I would need a bigger house.

I would pay off my parents debt, pay for my Mom to go back to school (she's been trying hard to do this for a while) - I would love to buy a small farm. I would invest some and make it work for us... quit my job and go back to school full time to actually get a degree. If I had enough I would buy both of my sisters modest homes and decent cars.

I too would hire a financial planner first thing!

Find a dream home within reason, put money aside for my boys education. Take a really great vacation one with just dh and I and then another with all of us

ahhh to dream

Buy land and build a house on it.

Put aside as much money into an interest bearing account that the interest would cover property taxes in the future.

Quit my job and sell and grow veggies and farm fresh eggs.

We don't really have any debt (have some but it's on target to be all gone in June).

Get out of the city.

Buy a new bigger house so I could start over in one.

Hire an interior decorator to decorate it

Hire a housekeeper.

Take my family on a month long european vacation.

Well...it's probably all gone now.

I already have a financial planner so I would give him a call first.
then....
1) secure kids college funds
2) pay off mothers house
3) either hire someone to finsih our house and pay it off or buy a new house- not really sure which
4) pay off car
5) trade in van and get another newer(still used) van
6) buy a RV camper and truck (to haul), used
7) start an education fund for nieces and nephews or donate to their existing one
8) take the WHOLE family to disney world- I would pay for the rental property and air fare
9) hire personal training time
