My job was saved! So now we're back to house hunting. And during the week where things were in jeopardy we paid off almost 8,000 in debt just in case. It cut our savings way low, but I think that's better than having money sitting there and debt drawing interest!

Most of us know that paying interest on debt is more costly than what we earn on our savings. We usually justify it by thinking "what if we have an emergency?". But, here you were facing an emergency and you paid off the debt. Even with uncertain times a real possibility, the elimination of debt was a relief, huh?

Debt is a tremendous stressor.
