Done that and still run out way quickly...

I guess I never fully realized how frustrated people get over this.
I'm really surprised by this - when I was in direct sales I did not submit any orders until I had those checks in the bank. That way, I usually knew if they had cleared before the people had gotten their merchandise. I still had a few bounced checks I needed to take care of, but at least the people didn't have their stuff - if they had, then they would have had no real reason to pay me for the bounced check. Realistically it costs more to get your money from a bounced check than it is usually worth if the person gives you a hard time.

Thankfully I don't have this problem . . .

And for further thought, I was told by two banks that I deal with that even if a check doesn't say so on the face of it, a check is null and void if not cashed/deposited after six months. Maybe it varies by banks depending on their rules?

I Didn't Either.

I Don't think alot Of people do though. I Never heard anyone complain about this at least.

It only Bothers Me if I am Using the check as a receipt as to when the Person Recieves it.
i.e. Birthday Cards through Mail , Or a Gift to a distant friend.
If the check Doesn't Get cashed and you Get no thankyou Card - You have to Check To see If they got the gift or not.
Other than that if I Write out a Check for something- That money is Plain and Simple Gone. I Don't Care if they Cash the check in 10 hours or 10 Months.
The money is no longer mine to use.

Mine's more of a .... if your gonna make me pay for something I am assuming you WANT or NEED my money for it. If you want it or need it ~ then WHY not cash the check ?? If you don't ~ then let me have it back

I guess I don't understand why (in any business) you wouldn't want that money ~ not just leave it sitting around in check form somewhere where it could get lost.

On a personal level (say birthdays or whatever) I look at it as somewhat of a politeness issue.

Just a pet peeve of mine *shrug*
