We just got our tax return, Yipee! Anyone know some high paying interest rates for savings right now?

If you have more than $2000 you can put it into mutual savings account, which pays more than a regular savings. You can also get it out right away if an emergency comes up.

Interest rates on anything seem to stink right now. Most of our bank money is in money markets as they're getting even more than CDs right now.

Check the credit unions around your area, for they offer better interest rates. I opened a cd last december at 5.15% and locked it in for a year. At this moment, 1 yr cd's for 50 dlls or more are about 4 or 4.10%. Not too shabby

ING Direct online bank is at 3.10% right now (just went down from 3.45%). Not as great as some of the CD rates, but not too bad.
