How do you plan to spend your economic stimulus payment?

Our payment will go towards home improvements.

If my husbands truck doesn't die before then, we will probably go back to the auto auction and buy him a vehicle. I got my minivan from there with our tax return, and it was fun. We got a pretty decent deal. I think. If there is enough I would like to get my self some new clothes. I need some desperately.

Forget the Joneses Holiday Boot Camp Blog

If we are not able to get my husband a vehicle before then, we will take a little out and do that. He just wants an old $500 junker for work. The rest will finish out what we need for vacation. And if any more is left from that we will pay some bill.

However, my dad (a mechanic) may be able to get enough out of his truck, since the parts are still really good, to buy another truck that is currently in his shop and fix it. This is what we are hoping for. And in this case the check would go to vacation and bills.

If nothing happens between now and then (knock on wood) we will use it to pay down some more of our debt. That will free up our regular pay checks so we can put more towards savings and retirement.

A Family of 5's quest to forget the Joneses.

We don't have much debt thankfully so it will probably go to shore up our emergency fund.

The $300 we are getting for our dd is going towards a swing set. and the $$ dh and I are getting is buying us a new shed. Our current one is falling apart. We already bought it at Lowes this weekend. We put it on our lowes card and have 6 months to pay it off which is good because it looks like we won't get our $$ until July based on the news article I read today.

We're planning on putting up privacy fencing in the back yard. I have to call and get estimates to see how much it will be to have it professionally done. If it's too much my dh & father will put it in. I would rather have someone else do it because it will be done faster & look better... but we have to do what we can afford.

I had a LOOOONNNNGGGG chat with my "financial friend" (in a previous post about talking to people I mentioned she is my go to gal about financial stuff)

We are treating ourselves and our kids..We are taking our very first REAL family vacation (every summer we do long weekends at my parents by the beach) but this time we're staying in a hotel and all in TN. DH and I haven't been on a vacation since DD was born in 1999. We think we're all due!

And I will NOT stress over where else the money could have went.
