We will be moving soon, so I'll need to subscribe to new cable, internet, and phone. But I am not sure what is a "good deal" price wise.
Just to check, what do you spend on:
Internet(do you have wireless?)
Cable/Satellite
Home Phone(do you have a long distance plan?)
Cell Phones
Thanks! -Ann

well first i would decide what you feel you need like do you need long distance maybe not if you have a cell phone that has nationwide long distance calling free(thats what i have) what type of cable/satalite do you need basic extended ect..
then i would call all the local places and get price quotes and compare to find the best deals around..
like where we live in a rural area some of these choices are limited to one or two but in a larger area there could be several options... good luck on your move..

Phone: land line $30/mth (basic..no call id, etc)
Cell: 1 only, AT&T pay as you go phone
Long Distance: none, I buy calling cards, I bought a $10 card over a year ago and still have $5 left on it
Cable: Basic $10/mth
Internet: Comcast, I called and they charge me $24.99/mth as a "new subscriber", if they don't continue it, I'll switch to verizon for 6 mths and keep going back and forth...I can't pay $43/mth for internet and we can't get dsl here.
So a monthly fixed total of $55 with varying cell charges (only 1 call/day=$0.25)

I can't give you specifics b/c DH works for our local Cable Co and we get an unbeliveable rate on a combo plan (cable, internet, and phone). I can tell you think about WHAT you need, and if you can shop around. Here there are few choices for cable (you can go local co or Satellite). Phone you can bundle with cable or a regular land line.
For the cell phone...shop around and do your homework...do you have one now? When do you use it...al lthe time or emergencies only. Do you need a plan that you can have unlimited calls to certain numbers anytime, or are you okay with a basic plan (and shop what their nights and weekends are..some companies are 7 PM some are 9). Can you go pre-paid instead.
I think it mostly comes down to homework and deciding what you need or what you can get by with. Good luck!

In Houston, TX:
Internet(do you have wireless?) - $39.95 + fees + taxes with Comcast, discounted $10 per month since we also use their cable service (original price is $49.95). We have a wireless router, but not renting it from Comcast, purchased one from Best Buy (you'll have paid for one after renting for a while).
Cable/Satellite - I don't know the exact rate for TV alone, my total bill for cable and internet service is about $110 per month. We don't have any premium channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.), just the extended digital basic service with one converter box.
Home Phone(do you have a long distance plan?) - The only reason we have a home phone is for our community gate access system and our house alarm, were told it would not work with digital phone. We pay about $30 something a month for a basic line with no extras, it is considered long distance from Houston though as we are a few miles outside what the consider the city limits.
Cell Phones - $49.95 per month + fees + taxes, free weekends and nights, 1500 - 2000 regular minutes (I think)

It really depends on the area - I am in small town MO.
We pay:
50.00 a month for 2 cell phones with 1000 anytime minutes and free nights and weekends. We use a small local company.
16.00 a month for a landline through AT&T. Local calling only, no extras.
15.00 a month for basic DSL through AT&T. That will go up to 20.00 at the end of the year.
We don't have tv but we were paying about 60.00 a month for the lowest package through Dish Network with DVR.
I would say no matter where you are, just shop around, and if someone wants your business badly enough, they might cut you a deal!
Hope that helps!

Wow, I must be getting ripped off. We have a bundle for the land line, cell phones (2) and DSL/wireless through AT&T for about 185.00 a month.
Our cable (extended basic) for two TVs is 51.00 a month.
Editing to add that we have the bare minium long distance on the home phone but have unlimited on our cells. Before we bundled, the prices were about the same as when we paid individually but we now get more features on our home phone like call waiting, caller id, etc.

We live in a small rural town in SW Michigan.
Internet(do you have wireless?): $50 per month.
We have wireless/satellite internet through Wildblue (with a local provider). We were paying $20 for dial-up and $30 for a landline we never used EXCEPT for dial-up, so we cancelled the dial-up and landline and it broke even.
Cable/Satellite: We have Direct TV satellite TV through the same local provider as our internet. We have a pretty basic plan and pay $57 per month ($5 of that is for a second TV box).
Home Phone(do you have a long distance plan?): We cancelled our landline as we have cell phones.
Cell Phones: I pay $45 per month for an Alltel, DH's is free through work.
So about $155 for all I guess...
