This is definitely tougher than prior years. We owe $6000 to the IRS (never had that happened before, we usually got a refund), our car insurance is due this month for both cars $1300 and this is usually when I book our summer vacations, and the airfare and hotels have to be booked and paid for. May/June used to be hard with birthdays and graduations and communions every year, but this April is tough!

I have a big extended family so bdays are a year-round thing. But definitely moms day and dad's day, one of my gma's bday is in april, mil's bday and bil's bday are in may, my youngest ds and my mom's bdays are in june, my other set of grandparents' anniversary, and dh and i anniversary are in june too. But my "big spending" event this year is my sister's wedding in june and her shower. Definitely I've been watching for little sales, clearances, and thinking "what/who could I use this for?"

"IT" hasn't started quite yet, but we have an extremely busy/expensive summer. We have one birthday in April. We have 3 birthdays in May. A birthday in June. DH's parents' anniversary is sometime early summer, I think June. We have a wedding in June that DH is in, we will have to spend money on a tux (of course the ones they picked out are super expensive!) and a dress (hopefully I can find one cheap), bachelor party, shower gift, hotel rooms for both wedding and b.p., wedding gift, transportation (5hrs away by car), etc. The wedding is very formal, so it's going to be pretty expensive, I'm afraid. We then have another wedding in August that is halfway across the country, so transportation is going to be bad for that, too. I think we are sharing a hotel room with my family, so that will help out. We have to do a gift, and I hopefully will be able to wear the same dress for that wedding as the one in June. Then we have 3 more birthdays in September. We also have 3 graduations to go to and get gifts for. There is a family reunion that we do a gift exchange for in July, and then 3 business trips this summer (at least I get paid overtime).
On top of all that, we're buying a new furnace. Hopefully we can still afford it!
Just thinking about it is getting me stressed out!
ETA - I forgot about Mother's Day and Father's Day! Aaaack!

oh yeah. first of the year is always tough. we have ds1 & ds3's bday's in january, ds2's bday in march, tags for the vehicles due in march, our anniversary in march-not that we ever do anything for that, plus all the holidays starting in jan. that nickel and dime us to death. plus oh yeah all the regular monthly bills and those unexpected ones that like to jump up and bite you in the butt when you least expect it.

We call it "birthday sweeps". We have a big cluster in May and again in late July/Early August. I'm just glad we have no weddings this year (2 last year) and no graduations!

This is a crazy few month for us also! My oldest DD is getting confirmed in May and it is my other DD's 1st communion this weekend. We have a deposit due for DD's braces of $1,200, preschool deposit of $250, and a mission trip final payment of $600 for my oldest DD. It's a crazy month!
