After reading this article it makes me think if I want to work until I'm 82 yrs old. I know one thing she enjoys her job. I know there's a lot of shortages in medical field right now. Some of my filipino friends that are nurses are bragging that they are earning as much as $50 -$70 an hour in CA right now.
With my previous thread about retiring with $500,000-$800,000 I think I could make it if I continue working like this woman in the article.

No way! My husband is planning not to be working when he's 52, much less 82! He says the only thing missing in his life currently is enough time to do the things he wants. Very early retirement is hopefully in his future!

To each their own.

I'm against the early mandatory retirement age. People like this who enjoy working, are needed in their field, and still good at their job should continue to work if that is what they want.

Me? I'm so glad I don't work. At this moment in time, I can't imagine ever going back.

I've been home for 15 years now and hubby will be 52 when he retires from his job to collect full pension. I believe he said he wants to work elsewhere for 5 years in his specialty; so he'll be 57 when he fully retires.

Ummm... No. I will be a nurse soon enough and plan to work until I am in my 50's. I will probably 'retire' and work just a small bit here and there. Dh is able to retire at 39 from the military, but probably wont until his 50's.

I'm planning on teaching piano until I die! ....unless physically incapable. A severe loss in hearing or speech is the only thing I can see that would prevent me from doing so.

I will probably work in my existing profession (engineering) until I am 70 or 75, if I am able.

After that I will probably continue to do some part time work or volunteering.

I can't imagine not working.
