Why would I pay 5 dollars for a shirt or pants at Goodwill, when I can get something on the Target clearance rack for about that price. My one weakness is when I go to a thrift store, and they are having a deal, and I find clothes at a really great price. Like a month ago, they were having a deal all the clothes in the store were 1 dollar, I grabbed all the nice jeans I saw in my daughters size. That was probably a little much. No reason to buy it just because it is there.
Sweetie, In my eyes you are a 10. You have so much more control than I do. If it is in my wallet I spend it. I guess that is from having a mom who was cheap and never worked even when we needed the income. I am trying to do better though. To be honest my son would'nt know what to do without cable and if we didn't have it I would lose my phone and internet too. So after the electric bill that is paid asap! As for you I think you are doing great. Keep up the good work! HUgs! Mitzi

I'm gonna have to agree with all the 5's. I am cheap and thrifty but not on everything. We do go out to eat alot however I do use a coupon and drink water. And I will on occasion drive through mcd when running errands. However I always wait for a sale and then save more with coupons or shop at costco. I do buy my kids gymboree but on sale plus gymbucks, never full price. I don't shop at dollar stores or goodwill. Sometimes go to yard sales but mostly there is only junk at those three. I do buy and sell on Craigslist and have gotten great deals there. I do love the thrill of the hunt for a good deal!

[quote=heather61172]I She is actually on a scale of 20! She is the master of saving and frugality...lol. Every 6 months she has a garage sale and can make up to 3-4,000 on stuff she got for free or pennies.

WOW! now that I would pay her to teach me.

I'd like to go with all of you 5's...but I'm about another step down at a 4...I'm bad - I won't buy anything unless it is on sale, but if I want something, I'll go buy it. I have all good intentions with all of my purchases...I cut coupons (don't use them), we may eat out once a month and it's not even eating out - we order pizza...but I'll buy the better steaks, fish and meat at the grocery store...so where I save in some places - I make it up in others! I really need to stop that!!

A 5... Somedays better than others. I wish I had more time and it was easier to drive around to get bargains like when things are on sale at target, but with 2.5 year old twins with me, sometimes it is not worth it to drive 20 minutes to get to the store!

I'd say 4 or 5. I try my best, but I could do better

I think I am a 6, striving for 8 in the near future! I am hoping to be officially a SAHM after my parental leave is up. We haven't eaten out in months, never use drive thrus now, work the grocery sales, use hand-me-downs for DS and get as many freebees as I can. I haven't had new clothes (anything at all) for probably 10 months and since I am in the middle of losing weight, won't until probably spring.
I also haven't used the dryer for longer than about 2 hours total in the last 4 months so hang everything to dry.
I second guess almost everything I buy BUT have a definite weakness for scrapping and stamping supplies. I have done very well lately though since I have such a stock pile I can go through.
We do have cable and internet is a must due to my DH's job. This is our only source of entertainment at the moment.

I'd say I am like an 8.5. Even if I see something on sale I won't necessarily buy unless I need it. I do coupons for groceries - am trying to do a stockpile but dh isn't too hip on it. We got rid of our satelite dish, pay less than $10 for internet, only go out to eat maybe once or twice a month (depends on how far we can make $25 last ) I buy all of my kids clothes at garage sales and or major clearance racks...but they usually wear brand name.

yep...8.5

give myself an 8 mostly b/c I have been giving my stuff away. I used to have Garage sales, but I haven't had time and also since I'm mad at dh I may buy things at full price. Under normal circumstances I would be a 9. we still eat out to much, but we always have coupons.

I'm a 7 I like to save and use coupon on any and everything i can. I head right to the 70% and above racks. However, my dd goes to a pricey school and we enjoy our cable and fast net service.
