On a scale of one to ten how cheap are you? If their was one thing that you think you could do better what is it? 1 being you dont care, 5 is average, and 10 is the supper saver mom.

I'd give myself a 5, I know how to save money but I dont always do it becuase I get lazy. OR I get tired of obsessing about it.

I'm probably a 5. I can scrimp and save with the best of them, but if I don't feel the financial pressure to keep things tight, I get lazy.

Me, too...I'll take a 5!! LOL I do very well at groceries...and we are doing better on eating out, etc. We don't do big events at all..my kids are devestated over not going to the fair! BUT, I am bad about running through the drive thru at lunch when I am by myself or with just my 2 year old...and I run the a/c when I know I could open windows once in a while..things like that!!

I'd have to say I'm a five too, although I may be edging toward a 6. I've been trying really, really hard to cut our grocery bill and I think I've been doing pretty well. I've been trying to cook more, too. But I know there's somethings I could still cut or buy cheaper etc.

Hmmm... hard to say. I guess a 7? I cut coupons, don't subscribe to cable, we rarely go out to eat, and if we do, I try to use a coupon, and I only drink water(free). I don't buy my kids brand new clothes anymore, and I won't pay more than a few dollars for them at retails stores. Why would I pay 5 dollars for a shirt or pants at Goodwill, when I can get something on the Target clearance rack for about that price. My one weakness is when I go to a thrift store, and they are having a deal, and I find clothes at a really great price. Like a month ago, they were having a deal all the clothes in the store were 1 dollar, I grabbed all the nice jeans I saw in my daughters size. That was probably a little much. No reason to buy it just because it is there.

I would give myself an 8 - I think overall I do a pretty good job with scrimping and saving. As a single parent living on just my income - I still have a lot more (savings & investments) than many of my friends have just because I do not waste my money on frivolous things. A couple of things I could do better - wasting food and cable/internet. I tend to buy too much food on sale and then it goes to waste before it gets eaten. I'm waaayyy better at this then I used to be but still need some improvement in this area. I also COULD cut out internet and the basic cable we have now but I would lose the only 'entertainment' we allow ourselves. We don't go to the movies, rarely even rent a movie and need some fun so this is what we keep.

I can't say that I know very many people who are more frugal than I am - although I think I've met a couple on here!

Id say a 7. Im a cheap-o. I always like to save a buck. Im a coupon clipper and if I can get something for less Im all for it. I love to shop at thrift stores (why by new when i can get something that looks new for a lot cheaper?) When we go out to eat we all drink water. We love to go on kids eat free days at Denny's. Never pass a clearance rack at Target / Walmart. Love signing up for freebies...just recently I got free tickets to see Disney on Ice, I just have to pay $15 for my son.

We are very thrifty...I would say an 8 or 9. We don't eat out very often (dh is managing partner at a restaurant so when we do eat out it us usually free), don't go to movies, shop at yard sales and thrift stores, I use coupons every trip and stockpile groceries and health and beauty products, hang our clothes out to dry when the weather is nice, wash in cold water except for whites and sheets, keep the thermostat low in winter and high in summer. Yeah, we are pretty cheap.:D

I used to be a 2 but have graduated to a 8 in the past 6 months. I have a friend who lives in Illinois. She has been telling me great ways of getting thing for free or almost nothing. She is actually on a scale of 20! She is the master of saving and frugality...lol. Every 6 months she has a garage sale and can make up to 3-4,000 on stuff she got for free or pennies. I still don't know all her tricks but she told me how to use coupons. Now I have found it fun and challenging to save and stock up on things....it is kind of fun, especially when you get things for free.:D

I would give myself a 7. I'm all about deals and bargins. The only reason I didn't say higher is sometimes I buy because things are cheap instead of need. And I go overboard on my dd sometimes because she is the only girl. I don't know if I know a person around here that is thriftier than I am. On here yes but not in person.
