yes, but the problem is, i have no one to watch my son past 5:30pm
there is no daycare available so late, and i don't know anyone trustworthy that watches kids from their home.

I don't know if its just me, but, i would not leave my son with a stranger!
even if they are licenced to child care from their home, its still a stranger.

its like dropping your kid off at some strangers house and hope all will be ok...
how many of you moms would truthfully feel ok doing that...i dont think any.
right now, he is in after school at the same school, he is safe.
a stranger's home, thats not safe to me, if something where to happen, i would never forgive my self for not going with my gut feeling.

Does your son have any friends nearby? Maybe one of his classmates? Maybe that way one of their friends moms and you can work out a deal for child care. Most states have licensed day care providers listed on their websites for you to check out. These are all options. Personally, I wouldn't want that late shift just because I would never get to see my son, never mind the child care, even if he was in a great home..and the cost of child care might even be more than the school cost...I would focus my efforts on finding day work so I could see him at a reasonable time after work. Good luck in your efforts, its so unnerving when everything gets shaken up when it was going well.

Just be careful about taxes. When I was unemployed a few years ago in Massachusetts, they didn't take taxes out so if you were unemployed for a while, you could potentially owe taxes at the end of the year. There was an option to have the taxes taken out but you had to ask.
