WOOHOO! I paid off my water softener system! (should have never bought it) We bought it (financed rather) over 5 years ago when I was preggers w/ dd (thought we needed fancy clean water lol). I started working on a settlement w/ the finance company a few months ago and got the balance down to 60%. I made the final payment of the settlement today. It feels like a weight has been lifted and I can see the light at the end of our "debt" tunnel lol. How corny! Just wanted to share my joy!

I'm glad you are happy with the outcome, but now I want details! What company was it? Why was it a bad decision? I am thinking about a system.

I remember making a very bad financial move when I was pregnant and my mom taking the reins to get me out of it. Maybe it is a hormone thing.

Actually, I did the negotiating myself. I got some pointers from zipdebt.com and the guy who runs the website actually called me and I got to ask him questions specific to our situation. He was so helpful. If you go to his website there's a 800# to get a free 20 min. consultation. I was so anxious about doing it but I'm glad I did!
