Sure did....we were going to take a vacation, but DH's son got into some serious trouble up North and now DH will have to prob take time off and some $$ to go to court. <Insert BEYOND angry at SS right now icon here>

2bearsmom - so sorry to hear about that! Our plan was to use some for a vacation - will probably do that still. Working on our savings goal and will send some to that as well.
well our plan is prettty much the same
pay off a cc(we are down to a couple hundred bucks on one)
pay for 6 months of martial arts for boys(saves me $80 bucks for uniforms)
pay off summer camp
pay off medical bills
250 to stock up on groceries deals.

Ours is going to the same thing, but it also depends on how much we get back. Since it is just two of us, are we guaranteed $1,200? No, it said up to $1,200, I could obviously do a lot more with $1,200 than I could with say $600....I guess it all depends on how much we get back. I am going to pay off debt and if there is left over, save it.
The irs has a calculator but it won't work for self employed. It says they don't get anything. Mine says $900 but so does my mom's. I'm not making plans until it's in my hands. I don't trust the government....

I think the original plan was to get dh a new used vehicle, but he is now saying we will need it to fix my van. Although, I am thinking the van will need to be fixed before we get it. We don't get ours until close to the end of June.

Yes, my plans have changed. Originally I was going to pay off my Wal-Mart credit card and get some sod for my front yard. Now I am using it to pay my car insurance deductible since I was hit by a driver with no insurance. Once I pay that I will have to pay my doctor bill from the same accident. So unless I can take the guy to small claims court anytime soon then my rebate is going to pretty much be a wash I just keep thinking about all the possibilites I could have used the money for.
If you have full coverage, the insurance company will go after the guy and reimburst you for your deductible and medical bills. At least mine did.
make sure you check with them and let them handle it after all that is what you pay insurance for.
