We haven't borrowed yet and that's a big yet. With all the bills incurred over the last few years (mostly medical) from our oldest daughter and now her being placed in a residential treatment facility and those expenses and all the extra doctor bills that are coming from that we are finding ourselves in a major hurt bag for money. We have a small cushion in savings that is being slowly eaten up to the tune of roughly $500 a month just to make ends meat. There's not much of a chance or DH or myself getting a job because then we would add on daycare expenses that would defeat the purpose.
The only thing I can think of doing to not have to borrow money is to refinance the house with money out, pay off all the credit card bills and the home equity loan. That would free up roughly $540 a month and only increase our house payment about $75 to $100. That way we would then stop taking out money from our savings account, pay off the bills DD has incurred faster, then put money back into savings and lastly make bigger payments towords our home loan. I realize it's not the safest thing to do but I'm getting desperate. Also if we stay in our home another 5 years the refinancing cost will be a wash. I refuse to put anything else on a credit card again and that's what is goingto end up happening if I don't find a solution sooner.
