I am planning to use rechargable batteries for all of my baby's things, as I know she will have battery operated toys FOREVER and it is cheaper in the long run than buying new batteries. (I already have the charger and some batteries for my camera)

Is there anyone else who does this? Do you see this as money saving? Is there a certain place you buy yours from where they are the cheapest?

I use to buy rechargeable batter for my boys, but then it was such a hassle to remember to charge the batteries, and plus these days you need a screwdriver just to get to the batteries. I still use rechargeables for their games and such, but not those baby toys.

I don't use rechargable batteries for everything but for somethings like camera, leapster, walkie talkies, etc... If they use a lot of batteries of frequently then yes but for all toys no. It is a pain to have to recharge sometimes. The problem with having an extra set ready to go is they lose their charge just sitting in the drawer too so they are usually dead the same time the one in the toys are too. It is really a combination for us. Some toys really use so little that the regular batteries will last for 6 months or more so it's not cost effective to buy the rechargable ones to me.

Some toys will say not to use rechargeable batteries in them so be sure to read the box the item comes in to check.

we use $1 store batteries for all DS's toys. I mean how much battery life is sucked out everytime he makes Elmo do a dance? Not much.

I use rechargeables for anything that takes AA's....Especially my camera. I can't imagine always having to go buy them. We also have a stash of them...so anytime I need them, there are always more charged!!

I have use and love rechargable batteries. I was given a charger and several as shower gifts. Only thing was charger is only for aa and aaa. I have seen the other chargers and wish I had it since the bigger batteries are the ones that seem to die the quickest. Next time I have some extra cash I plan on getting the other charger and a healthy stash of bigger batteries.

I use rechargables for everything that can take AAs. I got two with my digital camera and loved them so much that I bought more and use them for everything now. I also got a new baby monitor (old one fell) that has internal rechargables. I'm easily saving $15+ monthly on batteries.
