I saw this poll else where and thought I would post it here.

I am most concerned about health care. Everything else we will manage to provide our family with. But with a medical emergency, without health insurance and in some cases even with health insurance, that could push our stable world into not so stable world.

Please note, I have never done a poll before and it might take a couple of tries to get it right! Bare with me!

Health care is probably my main concern out of those choices just because I'm afraid we're heading for socialized healthcare and I'm VERY unhappy about it.

Health care for me. You can't afford to have it and you can't afford to not. It seems that it hardly covers anything anymore.

It does take choice away and choices are too limited already. One size does not fit all. I like being able to make decisions that are best for me and my family. It will not necessarily be the decision you make. Having elected officials with industry(with their special interests) deciding some grand scheme doesn't leave me or my doctor many health care decisions.

I am answering based on my family, not on what is the most important for society.

It's Housing that is a problem for us. We have lost so much in our house and we were hoping to sell soon but now we have to wait for the market to go up again just to break even!

gas prices...dh commutes to work and its $1.25 a liter now( not sure what that works out to in gallons) and the more gas prices go up the more food prices will too as they got to truck the food in and we drive to go buy it. bread alone has gone up twice in the last 8 weeks! ( was 1.79 then 1.99 and now 2.19 per loaf).

The way it works now though is worse. Over half of bankruptcies in 2006 had some root in paying medical bills. About 75% of those that were in bankruptcy had medical insurance. It's wrong when you are paying a premium monthly for an insurance provider to arbitrarily decide it is no longer "profitable" to do business with you and leave you out on a limb. Insurance companies do this every day. The only solution I see is to have the government intervene so that they don't get to reap profits off the backs of sick folk.
