I would take a holiday! Mostly though I would save it (unless it was millions)
It would be nice to have enough that you didn't have to worry about money.

  • Become financially free. No more payments on anything.
  • Fully fund my children's college educations.
  • Set up investments that make my money work for me so that, eventually, we could stop working to make a living.
  • Pay cash for everything, even if it means waiting and saving up.
  • Help people who need it.

I love to dream.

Depending on the amount I would pay off my mortgage, then pay off the Car and Boat. Put money in retirement and college funds for my dd's and invest. My husband would relax more because I might not be watching every pennie spent. I might just watch every dime

It's so boring, but I would totally go the same route. I would really love to have no financial stress in my life!
I would also try to put aside a monthly "fun" budget. Either save up for several months to go on vacation or treat myself every month to smaller things.

It would depend on how much we won. If it were millions then we would keep enough that we could live comfortably and our children could go to any college they wanted. Then we would give some to family and the rest to charity.

What I would like to do, with whatever is left after taxes is:
*Buy some land in the country and build the house I've been dreaming about.
*Furnish that house.
*Trade in our minivans for more fuel efficient models.
*Stock my house with a nice wine cellar...this is a "what-if" and I can dream.
*Stock my pantry with every kind of food I could want.
*Put a good percentage into funds for my kids
*Build my mom a house and my FIL a house (his would probably be on our land).
*travel

it is soooo nice to dream, it keeps me sane.

I also am not much of a gambler but I have had the what if dream like everyone else. I would first tithe 10% to my church. Then pay on everything I owed. If there was anything left I would make a heafty donation to each one of the kids college fund. (If there was enough after I had more than half of the money set aside for each kid to pay for four years of college!!) I would buy DH and new truck. Then if there was anything left I would make the home improvements I have been wanting. Anything past that would be put into the hands of a trusted money manager and made to work for me!!

I would buy a big house and travel around the world. It would be so nice to have a year off without thinking about money and budgets!
Having said that a bit or careful investing would be good.

Buy a big, roomy house, and hire a maid to keep it clean for me! I'd also buy my mother a house and have 2 more kids.

Of course i'd have to hit a serious jackpot to buy two houses, but if you're gonna dream, dream big!

Won't happen hear either nice to dream but I am really anti gambling. More then likely there is the morbid thought that I am more likely to inhearet the funds. My mom did a few years back after my Great Aunt Passed around 90K went to every neice and Nephew (yes there were quite a few but real estate in California pays) They have the vaction place paid off.
Me depending on how much it is. If it was small then pay off exsisting debt If its big Invest and live off interest after paying off all debt. With a higher income we can then afford many of our dreams of a larger home
