I hope its okay to post here. I picked this section b'c it's a money-saving idea that I'm using. I found a small kids table & 2 chairs set at the local Goodwill today for $10. I want to give it to him for his birthday. I already know he's going to love it b'c it's in my living room until I figure out a place to store the thing. LOL
Any suggestions on how to paint it? I was thinking I might paint a windy road on the top of the table, as DS loves to run his cars all over the place, but then when we have a little girl, she might be not so excited about that. would it be better just to paint it like dark blue to hide the definately-gonna-have crayon marks it'll acquire? What are your thoughts?

What about using chalk board paint on the table top? That way he can draw all over it and erase it and start over and over and over..... And when DD comes along and she is old enough there's no worries b/c it is quite unisex.
Great find btw!

I know! I just about fell over when I saw it. It was EXACTLY what I prayed that God would help me find. DH even thought it was really cool. (he's starting to come around to the thrifty/sensible side. LOL) Yeah I had thought of the chalkboard paint too.. It isn't that expensive is it? Thanks for reminding me. I'll post a picture once I'm done. :D

i'm not sure how expensive the paint is...but you'll probably need to give it a couple of coats of paint since the table is white.

You would prob. need less than a quart of it, and when I bought the paint (about 3 years ago) it was less than $10 for a quart. And it LASTS!

I got some of the paint last fall for a craft project. My was spray paint and I think it was around $6 for the can. They also had magnetic chalk board paint that was about $10 a can. That might be kind of cool because then he could use his magnets and things with it too.

It seemed to go a long way for me. I did two coats on what I was making (small project) and there seemed to be a lot left in the can. I found mine at Home Depot, but I think just about any home store carries it.
