Usually if you go through your bank you will get the lowest rate, and most offer some type of reward. Do you have a Region's Bank nearby? Their Visa cards were running a 7% rate and you got a point for everydollar. You could redeem them for gift cards and all kinds of stuff.

I LOVE my mypoints rewards Visa. If you already belong to mypoints, you can use this card to accumulate MORE points towards GCs. So far this year, I have enough points for a card for Kohls and some left over. I plan on using them for my Christmas shopping.

I know if you get gas at Wal-Mart and use a gift card that you bought there, you get the gas 3 cents cheaper.

I have a credit card that I get cash back. It's 2% on gas & groceries (bought at a grocery store, not stores like Wal-Mart). And I get 1% back on everything else. Mine is a CitiBank card. The interest is really high but we pay the balance off each month so that doesn't come into account for us.

i looked at an heb credit card today because they currently have the cheapest gas along w/ walmart. i would earn 2 points per $1 that I paid in at heb. when i earned 2000 points i could trade it in for a $20 gift card. i figured it up and it would take me four months to earn a 20$ gift card. that doesnt seem like much of a reward. is that about right or are there better cards out there?
