Yeah, we're a bit worried. DH's company was bought and they will probably eliminate his office physically, as they are based in another state (DH is in mgmt at HQ), and then with the gas crunch, it's raising prices everywhere....so yeah. Let's say some things are getting tightened, and it ain't my butt., sad to say.

I think this year I am actually trying to get a handle on my finances so being aware of it all I feel better this year than last. We make more this year than last year, but things cost more. If I didn't have a plan I think I would feel much worse.

Once I get debt free I will be much happier!!

You know, I let my dh do the stressing about money. I know that I will always have enough to make creative meals for my family and I also know that I will always have enough to buy hand me down clothes from the 25cent thrift store. We also paid off the last 3 credit cards today. They are gone!

Yes and no.

No because DH recently got a new job and is making almost double what he was making before.

Yes because we just got a brand new car and went from having no car payment to a fairly hefty one. also paying double in car insurance.

So, a lot of the extra money that we have been enjoying off the new job is now going to the new car. Darn!!!

OMG yes ~ I think my head is totally going to explode . Dh ~ not so much though. He gets mad at me for stressing about it so much, so I am trying to relax about things (it's not been working so well though )

I feel that this year we are going backwards. We have been debt free for 2+ yrs now, and this is the first year we will have to take some on ( to pay for heat, newer car, etc...) It really blows.

This year. Simply because of the rising gas and food prices.

yes, I would like to say we have made progress on debts but not really. Its just hard to do it with one income and the COL in my area. We are surviving but at the same time I wish I could make better choices all the time

More stressed this year, definitely. Even though we have paid down alot of debt, jobs are much less secure. Dh will find out July1st if he's getting laid off, that's very stressful waiting to hear; and things don't look good. I am a teacher and they are actually laying teachers off and on a hiring freeze; that's unheard of down here. Plus the gas and food going up... We are not big spenders to start out with, so there isn't a lot to cut. KWIM? If I did a lot of shoe shopping or manis/pedis, I could cut that out; but I don't! If we have to cut cable and internet, I will be so sad. It would really affect the quality of life for us, we don't do/spend that much to begin with.
