I guess I am somewhat, but not really. I was a little worried last year when my company laid off people January 2. They never called them back. This year is by far worse, but I am not as worried. Maybe it is because I just got married and I have another income to fall back on... On the other hand, I would really like to pay down our cc balances and my dh isn't to keen on that idea so that has me worried a bit, plus being pregnant and wondering how we are going to afford either me quitting or paying for childcare has me wondering.

I am much, much, much less stressed now. A year ago we had just bought and moved into our house in NC but still hadn't sold our house in Florida (YIKES!!!!!!). My husband was working in a contract position and I was unemployed. But there was no way I was going to be working over the summer with 4 kids at home from school (one being a 3-month-old). It was a very scary and stressful time.

BUT it all worked out! our FL house sold that month, my husband's job became permanent (with great benefits), and I settled into being a SAHM. Our budget is tight, and we certainly are not living it up, BUT it's very comforting to know that I could easily pick up some clients or get a PT job if we start sinking. I have my SLP license, so I could become the breadwinner if my husband were to lose his job. Overall - we are much more stable financially.

I would say that I am a bit less stressed this year. We know that in the fall, our loan will be paid off and we won't have that bill to deal with every month!

I am less stressed this year. DH spent much of 2006/2007 in a job that paid half of what he makes now. This year we have been building up our savings and no longer have car payments!

I'm much more stressed- I lived before with no cares about debt or its repercussions- now I'm paying for my sins. I have a handle on things- just the reality of it is stressful. But paying down those debts is exciting!

No. We're pretty much financially the same. My dd is entering college and that's going to be probably an extra $10,000 per year when you add in everything, but we've known this day is coming and it could be worse if she didn't have a scholarship for tuition, so I just consider us blessed to be in the position we're in. Not rich...but certainly enough to get by.

Fast forward one year. My husband's new job had its up and downs but overall it was the right move. The baby is here (he did wait to be born until after the insurance kicked in). We're paying the bills and I'm looking into returning to work, part time (full time if ended) probably at the end of summer on a schedule that my kids won't need someone else to watch.

This year actually is a lot better now that I think of it that way!

Thanks for this question!
Fast forward almost two months ... I'm WAY more stressed!
