What are some everyday things you can do to reduce your spending (I don't mean cut out cable or cell phone etc).

Things like:

Bring your lunch to work
Don't buy that candy bar at the grocery check out

What are the little things you can do everyday that add up?

When shopping bring a cooler with bottle water and snacks!

Same when going to movie or ballgames bring snacks

Go to movies matinaes

Shop at yard sales and consigments stores first

Never pay full price for anything, compar prices at different stores and always wait for sales.

always pay yourself first, even if it is only 5 a week, you would be suprised how that adds up fast!

Trade stuff with friends and family first. I got my windows clean by a family friend and all I had to do was babysit her yorkie for a week, while she went out of town.

Buy meat in bulk and split it up and freze for several meals.

Buy anything you can in bulk and if it is too much expense at first, go in half with a family member or friend.

Use coupons!

This is the normal stuff I do everyday, if i think of any more I will post!

Plan and schedule your errands so you're not having to drive all over the place wasting gas and time.

We always eat before we leave the house and also carry a bag of snacks. It's so tempting when we are out and the kiddos get the munchies to buy a quick snack while in the store.

I make a game plan before leaving the house also, combining the stops, trying not to run errands everyday.

Yup, I do all those things too. We don't leave the house much to conseve gas, we walk alot of places since we are so close to town. When I have errands to run, I try to do them on my way home from work so that I'm only out once and the places I go are usually on my route. When I take the kids out, I pack snacks and juice boxes so that if they start complaining, we don't have to stop at McDs or DD for a drink.

Make your own coffee and spice it up with your own syrups, creamers, etc.

If you or you Dh uses the vending machine at work for sodas, buy 12 packs of cans instead to keep in a cooler or mini fridge. Even not on sale they turn out cheaper than the vending machine. Even cheaper is to buy a 2-liter and bring a cup. But for that you'd have to have a place big enough to keep it cold.

Try to copy a few of your favorite restaurant meals to make at home. Italian and Latin meals especially, are so much cheaper to make at home.

Have some convenience meals like frozen pizzas, breaded chicken nuggets, etc on hand to cut down on calling out for food.

Turn off lights when you leave a room or open the blinds/curtains to let light in, so you don't need them on.

Learn to cook. I am surprised at how many people around me eat out all the time because they don't know how to cook.

I bike to work to save on gas.
Buy a good water bottle (preferably one good for the environment -no plastic) and refill it.
Bake my own sweets.
Watch what I eat and exercise to stay healthy (saves lots of money daily.)
