You don't have to buy it, go to the library.

Does it count if I checked it out of the library and it sits there on my bedside table? I guess I think the info will get to me through osmosis or something, because I can't get the interest to pick it up and read it. Maybe today I will start.

I read TMMO at the same time that the FTJ spending freeze began in January. Between the 2, I can say that was my "financial turning point"--the 3 weeks of not spending + the common sense widsom in TMMO were enough to evoke change!

Dave's products frequently go on sale for $10 each on his website - much better than full retail of 25.

I heard Dave on the radio while traveling for work and was hooked, we've read TTMO and Financial Peace Revisited, we've taken the online Financial Peace University, and we got to scream "we're debt free!" on his tv show in June. We have stuck to his principles and refuse to borrow money to pay for anything. It is hard, as it would be so easy to get a loan for a new car or a new deck or whatever. I agree his principles are basic - even he admits that. The hard part for most people is doing them. We have a great income and are very blessed now, but we would be way better off if we had used some of these principles when we were first married. It is never too late though.

Yes. I often recommend it for people who are spenders and heavily in debt and are finally coming to terms with their issues and needing a change.

It's a fun easy read but I didn't learn anything new. It is great for those who have never given a moments thought to debt free living ~ even if it just inspires people to think more about the potential for wealth by saving up for what they want before they buy stuff.

For most of the regulars on here, it would probably all be common sense but for someone new who is overwhelmed and in over their heads, it's a great start. I think it should be among others as mandatory reading for high schoolers.
