Has anyone done this? Is it worth the time to set up a new account? I thought about using the checking for our "envelope" system, then actually save some money by the rounding up.

we do it, and I use my check card for everything, so it is good to round up and have it moved to the saving acct. I think it depends on how much you use your card. the more you use, the more money is moved to saving.

It sounds like a great program, but we don't have a Bank of America around here.
My husband and I use National City. They've got a program where for every $1 you spend through your debit or credit cards, they give you 2 points. You can earn thousands of bonus points for opening new accounts with them, among other things. The points add up quickly and they can be spent on gift cards to tons of different retailers, as well as other prizes and even cash rewards. I used my points to get gift cards to help with my Christmas shopping this year.

We've talked about this on here before, and the consensus is good. It's a great idea and costs you nothing. They were matching for awhile, but don't know if that's going on. It is worth it. I hook my savings up to my checking online so it acts as an overdraft or I can transfer funds around online if I have to. It does really add up. I think $16 in the last week alone is what I did.

I do this with my cash. I put all my change in a teddy bear jar and then use it for our STate fair. which around here is like going on vacation.
