Well, it turned out that it was an honest mistake on the charge on my checking account. The person put in the card by hand and messed up a couple of numbers and it just happened to be my account. Anyway it has been worked out but I had one check from Meijers returned that was an EFT. On these it says that they will automatically collect the fee but will they try to get the money I owe also? Can I take the cash and pay them the check and everything. Does anyone know I am trying to fix this the best way I can. The bank says they can't cover the check fee because they don't charge it Meijers will. I have to contact the place that charged me in the first place.

First of all, call the store manager to override the fee...perhaps they can send the check back through, if it hasn't already gone twice.

AND, the bank can give you the money. They have slush funds for such things. You just have to push it through a manager, not a teller. But try the store first. Especially if you have proof of the error from the bank, like a letter, they should waive it. They also may do it, if it's your first time, just to keep a customer.

The manager already said that they couldn't do it because it will be Meijers fee not theirs and I went to school with him so he knows me. 5\3rd isn't the best bank.
