Have you ever sold blood, plasma, or eggs, and done it mostly for the money?

This isn't available in Canada. People can't be paid or reimbursed in any way for blood (other than a cookie and a glass of OJ so you don't faint).

But if it were, some days it would be mighty tempting.

I went to donate plasma once (it was something like $40 per time), but it was PACKED with....interesting people. Interesting people that REALLY liked to talk to you. The wait was also 4 hours long. I couldn't hack it and left.

We knew a guy that did it -- he showed us his arm one time and it had this HUGE bruise on it. Evidently they had problems? I was like "That is horrible!" And he laughed and said, "No they pay you extra when they bruise you!" He was excited. Not my idea of a good paying job.

a plasma place i drive by you can earn up to $240.00 a month so 60 bucks a week and you can donate 2 times a week.

i donated plasma for 2 years when i was younger paid off my brand new car in two years doing so then drove it until it dropped.

with out people donating plasma my aunt would not be alive today she has a metabolic disorder and went from walking and normal to two weeks later paralyzed and in a wheel chair. with out plasma exchange she would not be doing physical therapy and have the possibility of walking again.

Dh and I started dotating plasma after my BIL had a scary medical emergency requiring plasma treatment. The extra money is nice ($30/donation) as it is our individual "blow money" and we can spend it however we want (lattes, scrapbook supplies, pedicures, toolbox, etc..) Sometimes we'll save it up for a couple of weeks and go out to a really nice dinner or something. We've made friends with the workers and have had an overall nice experience. There's been a couple of times when we've been bruised, but most of the time it's fairly painless and easy. Before I donated plasma for money, I donated whole blood for free, so it's nice to get paid for something I was doing anyway.

We have one Blood plasma Center in the City close to Here. But It wouldn't Be worth my Time or Money to Go And Get Paid the 30.00.
Its About 30 miles From Here and With Finding someone to watch the kids and Probably Taking a few hours out Of my Day ,- Not Worth it.

If I lived Down the Street and Didn't have to Worry about My Kids - I Would Definatly Do it.
Getting Money for helping Out? Who can Argue with that?

I Don't Know of Any egg doner Places Close to Here.
I Used to Hear how well that Paid Back in the Day when I Was Young and poor
If I Had the oppurtunity then, I Would've Done it For Sure.
I Know What it involves.
Still Last I Heard the pay was 3,000 and egg , and that was about 8 yrs. Ago.

I'm a blood donor - no pay. I have never donated plasma for which you can get paid. I have never donated eggs and have no idea if you can get paid for them or not. I personally don't think you should get paid because you're doing something to help another human being. But I see why they pay for as not many would donate if they didn't get paid. I know there's a debate now as to if organ recipients can pay donors or donors' families for their organs just for that reason. I wish more would donate just to help others.

My BIL used to get paid to donate plasma when he was in college. Helped pay for grad school.
