My Daughter is in kindergarten this year, and lots of her friends have lunchboxes in all sorts of colors and characters, and she has made it know from the very start that she wanted one too. But- it's just not in the cards for us right now, we qualify for reduced lunch at her school, so we pay only .40 a meal, $2.00 a week to feed her healthy lunches, and it helps our budget right now a lot. I went to curiculum night and they had all made a sentence with a picture to go with it, "I see..." most of the kids i couldn't even figure out what it was! But my daughters says "I see a lunch box" and it is definatly a picture of a purple lunch box, and she surrounded it with dollar signs!! I tried not to let her know it was an issue of money that she couldn't have something so simple, just that she buys lunches from school- why? because thats the way we are doing it right now, but somehow she still caught on. I felt really bad though.
