Do you write checks anymore or do you mostly use your debit card when making purchases?

I was in HyVee the other day waiting behind an elderly gent. as he wrote out a check. It struck me as strange to see someone still writing a check out for groceries (I don't really know why, but it did). I use my debit card for all my shopping purchases ~ I don't even carry my checkbook with me.

I actually use my credit card for most purchases. The only time I use cash or a check is when I'm somewhere that doesn't take credit cards. I don't have a debit card and I get cash back on purchases with my credit card, which I pay the balance full on each month, so I figure it's a win-win for me.

I have been writing checks lately to help use up the stash I have. If I am feeling lazy or rushed at the store, I just do the debit card. Once I get down to my last 1-2 books of checks, I'll go just to my debit card.

I mostly use the debit card for everything. Every now and then I have to write a check like to pay for my daughter's ballet class or school lunches, etc...

I use checks to pay some bills. I use credit for most everything else. I like the few days of float you still get with checks, which is why I never use my debit card.

We do not have a debit card.

We mostly use cash and sometimes the CC (for gas)

Don't have a debit card, nor do I want one. To me it would be to easy just to swipe the card and forget to write down the purchases.

To me it is like a credit card, to easy to make impulse buys.

I write a check or pay by cash.

We've been doing cash only for awhile. I'm liking it so far.

If I'm out shopping, I usually use my debit card. We do mail some bills with checks. Oh, and daycare is paid with a check.
