I'm not worried about mine and since DH lost his ... well that is one less worry as well. I actually was more worried BEFORE he lost it than afterwards. We are headed in a new direction now, though our plans are not completely concrete and that kind of drives me batty, but I feel way better now than when he actually still had his job and we were worried about what we would do if he lost it.

Yes. Although it would not be ideal, he should be able to get another job if he loses his current job.

Worst case scenario, I will work part time and my MIL can watch my youngest for a few hours. That would be WORST case. I know I can make a few bucks in the cafeteria at school from 11-2 every day. They offer me a job every time I go to school They really need help. That would be grocery money.

No, I'm not really worried about DH's job. He's employed by a school system and I would think school cuts would be one of the last things to go. But he IS in administration and I supposed they could chose to cut back on the non-teacher positions. Maybe I "should" be and if he loses his job I guess I'll be unpleasantly surprised, but currently I don't worry about it at all.

I lost my job in July and was able to get a new one by the end of September. The industry I work is has a lot of turn over so I could lose this job to a buy out or lay off too. I have come to terms with that so I keep working hard and putting as much away as possible. Dh's job is as safe as almost any job can be in the current economic environment. He is currently going for his MBA at night so that one day he can get an even better job and I will not have to work. Until then we will keep doing what we have to and if tomorrow I have to find another job again I will--simple as that.

Slightly more than I have been for the last 10 years. I'm in Detroit, so it's been bad here a long time. Every year around this time the layoffs start. Every year my manager has hidden me/moved me/done something to keep me employed. Last September my contract ended on one project & I moved to OnStar. Since I joined OnStar, I saw 5 people in my role get let go. So, even though I still "landed" a new assignment w/ them this September, I still left and took an internal EDS assignment. OnStar was ticked as my role there was supposedly "secure". LOL Just last week they let go 3 of the managers of the project I was assigned to. They had 2 people in my role on that project - I just know they would have let one of us go if I stayed, and it would have been the other girl - a single mom. I'm glad I left as she still has her job, and my project has not been affected at all.

DH has his own company, but it contracts to municipalities. He's has his budget cut in half over the last few years. It renews yearly, so he could be out any time. That's just the way of it.

Not exactly since we're self employed. We're preparing to have a bad year. But, at least we can't get fired! Actually, I guess I can, as my piano students could quit their lessons, but the number of students taking lessons has actually doubled this year, most I've ever had.

Not after the US store mgmt meetings they had last week. Well, I should say, I don't worry as much. There was a plan presented that looks to be keeping him safe.

I don't live in the US, I'm in Canada, and our economy hasn't fallen very far yet, but I know it's coming.. I'm not very worried about DFs job yet though, he works for a construction company and they do snowplowing and things like that in the winter too so that kind of things kind of has to be done and they'll need people to do it.. and I don't work so I don't really have to worry about that..

No, I don't worry about my husband's job and I don't work. He does corporate finance for a very large company in the food service/farming industry so it's pretty resistant to changes in the economy and he's highly regarded within this company. He still gets calls regularly from headhunters so if anything were to happen, I'm sure he could quickly find something.

I Am Not too Worried yet ,
He Is In the Process of Getting a loan finalized , since we are Buying the Buisness and He has a Busy Winter Sceduled ... so We will Have Money in the Bank.
I Am Concerned though , that Any Job would Be affected if the
Economy Got Bad Enough.
I THink that is a Law Of Economics - That All Jobs depend on other jobs to Keep Going.
