We like to travel with food/drink items that aren't sticky and don't make a mess. So things like popcorn, rice cakes, fresh fruit, rice crackers, oyster crackers, Fiber One bars and then we always have water.

We take a cooler with lunch meat, cheese and a loaf of bread so we can stop and have lunch. We also take water and drink mix to put in them like lemonade. Usually for snacks we have potato chips, cookies, bananas.

If we are traveling far we take a cooler with drinks and sammy fixings and stop somewhere to eat and let the kids play.

If we are out running errands. I have cereal, animal crackers, pB crackers, nuts, and water for us to munch on.

If it is just while we are running errands, I just toss some snacks in a bag and grab a few juice boxes. If it is a day or weekend trip than I put some more effort into it.

Big cooler

Freeze capri suns and water bottles so that we do not have to get ice
cheese sticks
granola bars, cereal bars, etc
crackers and cookies
sandwich supplies-if I do not make them ahead of time
microwave popcorn-if we will be staying at a hotel
fruit snacks
apples, bananas, grapes, etc
small milk jugs-if where we are staying doesnt offer free breakfasts
yogurts
microwavable things-chef boyardee, mac and cheese, etc
plastic silverware and napkins
