Do you go to events and do activities without meeting up with friends?

I'm mostly asking moms of very young children... A friend and I were going to both get summer passes to a local water park, and she changed her mind. Now I'm wondering if I should still do it. Not that I would have gone with her every time, but the thought of hanging out at the water park alone with my toddler every time we go sounds kind of boring. We have an aquarium membership and I take her by myself frequently, but it's more fun if a friend comes too.

I'm good going with people and I'm good going alone. I will admit that with two kids instead of one, going by myself gets a bit harder though.

Of course I'm also one of those people that never had problems eating out by myself and I've even been known to take in a flick or two on my own. Though it has been awhile.

I have no problem taking them on my own. Usually I bump into someone I know at the pool, but I follow dd around the pool so I don't have alot of time to socialize myself. As long as the kids have fun that's all that counts.

I wouldn't take my kids to an amusement park by myself when they were little, but we always went places like the zoo or the movies without meeting up with friends. A lot of the time even if we were meeting up with people from my moms group, we ended up not hanging out with them as much because my kids were a little bit older and wanted to do different things than their kids.

I always take them by myself. I only do big things like amusement parks with dh. I tried to do the Mommy friends thing a few years ago, it never worked out for us.

I always take all four kids with me by myself everywhere we go. I could never meet up with friends, with watching four young kids how could I socialize properly? My neighbor and I joke about it b/c she has three kids and when we let them play outside we try to sit and talk and we are constantly interrupting each other to say something to one of the kids. I would think a waterpark would be a place where you would need to concentrate on your child, not be distracted with friends, so I say go for it.

Yes I take them places by myself. Even when they were younger we would go swimming or Disneyland all by ourselves. I find it easier to just be with my kids compared to always asking the other mom what they wanted to do. But I don't mind hanging out with other moms.

Most places I wouldn't mind. I probably wouldn't take a small child to the water park or amusement park by myself, but anything else I would. I have older kids too, and I would take them anywhere by myself, as long as it wasn't too far away. I don't like to drive to Detroit without my husband. Not necessarily because of crime, but because of traffic.
