Does your city have a holiday or a festival for celebrating the town? Our town is having ours in a week or so. There are lots of free festival-type things, parades, fireworks, fun stuff for the kids. Some of it, like the rodeo and the pancake breakfast cost a few dollars.

In September we have our heritage festival. There is a parade and all sorts of activities. It is a lot of fun and they have really good food!

Yes, some things are free and obviously some things are not. Every community has some sort of fair of their own. I live in Canada's national capital and there are +++ free touristy things to do as well as things that cost (ranging from pricey to affordable).

Burn the good candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion...Today IS special.

Yes...Reynoldsburg has their annual Tomato Festival as they call Reynoldsburg the "birthplace of the tomato." It is usually on the weekend. Some of the events are free, some are not.

We just had our Watercarnival celebration two weeks ago. It's a week long festival that ended on Father's Day with a big parade that goes right by our house and a cornation of a new city queen, princess, and junior royalty.
