Have you transferred any of them to DVDs?

We have done some of the kids movies so they can watch them in the playroom, but most of them we just keep as they are. We have 3 little movie cabinets full so I'm hoping nothing happens to our VCRs.

We have dvd/vcr combos in the kid's rooms so they can watch their favorite vcr tapes.

We got a vhs-to-dvd thing free about 2 years ago. My parents still had tons of disney movies from when I was little. I ended up transferring movies twice, once for my son and again for my little sisters. We then just donated the vhs tapes. I think it's absolutely fabulous, and they take up sooo much less space. I probably have way too many movies now though, can't resist the dirt cheap/free vhs movies at yard sales because I know I can just transfer them haha The one thing about that though that my sisters pointed out to me was that now they can't look at the box. I suppose you could put them in jewel cases with a computer print out of what the movie is. I just have them all in a zipper cd case with the names sharpied on the dvd.

My next thing is to transfer home movies. I think they would make amazing Christmas gifts...and those will get more than a sharpie label

No, we haven't transferred our VHS movies. Almost all of them were hand-me-downs or movies purchased at the local library sale for $1 apiece. I'm
hoping that our VCR will hold out through the kids' childhoods

We have transferred a few movies but not a lot. Most of DD's shows are on dvd anyways...DH has transferred a TON of his sports collection VHS tapes to DVD...He started out with over 7000 VHS tapes and has transferred about 1/3 to DVD and it does take up so much less space! We have also transferred our home movies to dvd and it is awesome for that as well.

Can anyone tell me where to find a converter to transfer the VHS to DVD? I have about 1500 DVD's in boxes that I would love to transfer. Movies my son loves and I have yet to find on a DVD. Not to mention transfering would be much easier and cheaper.
