It looks like we'll be heading down in a few weeks. If any of you are in the area do you have any suggestions on good places to visit/eat or tips on places to avoid with a toddler? (She'll be a few months shy of 3.)

My MIL went to the House of Blues and she said they got coupons for Breakfast and then at Breakfast, they got coupons for dinner, so they kept eating there! LOL

We went a few summers ago and there are tons of mini golf places, we actually just chose one that was not that grand and fancy..a jungle golf, I think. It was cheaper and my kids are little so they race through and we didn't want to waste too much on that.

We stayed in a condo/hotel, so we made our own meals at times.

All the souvenir shops advertised and had freebies, so our kids got shells and shark necklaces to bring home.

Many people recommend getting up early and "shell-searching" on the beach.

There are outlets there, so have your coupons ready! Bring coupons for fast food places too if those are your kids places to eat.

We ate ice cream at McDonalds one night...can't beat $1 for a sundae

There was also a fishing pier that is really fun! You pay $1 to go on it and people are catching fish and sharks.

We were there in August. We really loved the restaurants at Murrell's Inlet, which is about a 10 minute drive south of MB but worth it. We really enjoyed Dead Dog Saloon. I've heard that Crabcake Lady is really yummy too.

All of MB is really family-friendly, so you should be fine wherever you go with your three year old. I'd recommend staying right on the beach. We found that we didn't really even want to venture out too much because the beach/pools is where our family wanted to spend the majority of our time. We stayed at the Hampton Inn there - it was WONDERFUL and had a little waterpark that would be perfect for a toddler. Plus, their continental breakfast was terrific. We filled up on that mid-morning and then just ate one meal out per day, typically.

Have fun!
