Himself's bosses encourage faculty to bring their spouse/SO to the party. I go when I can get off work to do so; if I can't go, he goes alone.
My office party is employees only.

For several years the company always had a dinner party for workers and their SO or spouse, but the last few years they have just had the party right at the company so SO/spouses aren't able to attend.

neither dh's or my company hold office parties. If my work did I wouldn't want to go haha, but if his did I'd totally be on board, he works with people who are actually fun

We've always gone to the parties.

This year it's a little different as DH was hired to run a new small dealership. There really isn't money in the budget for a big party, so the Christmas party will be a potluck at my house. However, I had to find that out from the office manager, because DH didn't tell me. I wonder when he was planning to do that.

We work for the same company, and we don't have any Christmas parties put on by the company. DH and I might go out with his co-workers after work for supper and cocktails, but that's the extent of it.

No party this year.

My DH"s company just laid off 30-some people, so I do think they are doing the right thing by not throwing a huge party, just having a luncheon for the employees. Id MUCH rather DH have a job than go to a fancy party.

I always go w/ dh, his company has a great party, they have a cocktail hour, dinner, the best desserts I've ever had, and free drinks all night--it's a fun night! I was sad when he told me he'd be out of town this year during the party, but a couple of the girls he works with called me and offered to take me as their guest because they all go alone, so I may still get to go!

DH works for a VERY small company (the boss & 3 employees) so his parties usually consist of dinner out. Last year his boss had a very nice dinner at his very amazing house and it was such a good time.
