Does anyone host any sort of game nights? How do you gather your group. What game do you do? Do you tie your snacks or meal in with the game theme? Share with us!!

Growing up my parents would get together with the neighbors to play Hearts and us kids would just play.

During the spring/summer the block gets together once a week to play kick ball.

We do a game night about once a week or every other week in our home. We just play board games or Uno.

We used to do a card night every Friday with friends. I would usually make a dish, others would bring snacks ~ and all would BYOB.

I miss that ~ don't know too many people who play cards where we are now

You know, this is our problem. My husband and I use to play this card game called Groo with another couple. But we're no longer in touch with that couple. We would love to start again, especially during winter, but I know NO ONE would be interested in doing this. I especially know of no one with kids - it would be nice to find a couple with kids so they could all play and we wouldn't have to deal with a babysitter. I'm just not sure if people do that anymore.

Growing up we thought we were the only family outside of Germany that knew how to play the card game Durock. I think so many families are busy with sports and other activities that when they do have a night together they want to just have quiet time. I can relate to that, but I would love to get together with the neighbors and play cards.

My husband and I have friends over to the house or vice versa to play board games.

I have been a sub for a Bunco (dice game) group with some other Mom's from my Mom's club. It is fun. They usually have a appetizer style dinner at 7:30 and play Bunco till 10:00 PM.

We've done it a few ways. The best, in my opinion, is to have 3-4 couples over AND their kids. Hire a babysitter to watch the little ones and all chip in on it so it isn't too expensive. Then, we play cards or other games. It's potluck, so nobody has to do too much cooking or prep work.

Fun games with other couples: Catch Phrase, DVD Trivia Games, Murder Mysteries, etc.

We've had a game night here as one of the Mom's Nights Out in our mommy group.

We played Pictionary and Cranium. Cranium is loads of fun - imagine pictionary, charades, name that tune (with humming or whistling), trivial pursuit, and balderdash all rolled into one. And with that theres also playing with play-doh. LOL

We just had people bring a snack to share. I provided soft drinks - if they wanted alcohol it was BYO. But I had a couple smirnoff in the fridge that I offered - they were a few months old and i'd just found out I was pg...so no biggie to hand them out.

I play Bunco with my mommy group friends once a month. We also have a game night every 3 or 4 months. We play Catch Phrase, Pictionary or a trivia type game. We all bring a dessert or dish to share. It is fun to get out without the kids and hang out with girlfriends.
