My husband and I like to go out and do wine tasting....5 tries for $5...and its a ton of fun for $10.00 and lasts about 1 1/2 hours.

We put the kids to bed early 1 night a week. And curl up on the couch and watch a movie and have a couple cocktails.Or we'll go in our room, turn on some music/have a glass of wine and just talk. Those are the best for our relationship. It gives us time alone to enjoy each other as a couple.

1)go out after dinner at home ( helps the sitter out too!) and just order dessert

2)if you don't eat before...order an appitiser and share, and then get a dessert...also go to places with free bread...lol...it fills you up and you still get to spend time with your honey... the only problem is that it is not healthy!!! WHO CARES!

3) go to places where you don't have to tip-fazolies, or panara...(please post if you can think of anymore that are not like mcdonalds) once again not elegant but you do save money on not haveing gratuity!!!

4) see a movie during the day...it is much cheaper

I stumbled across a great FREE date idea recently....programs at the library. Our local library has at least a dozen special community programs each month on a variety of topics. Next week, dh and I are going to a class on European cheeses complete with tastings! Who knows, we might even learn something!

My last date night consisted of my dh coming home from work with take out. I made the drinks so all he had to do was buy the meal. We put on a movie from our stash and we watched it. It was one of the best date nights we have had even if I did a load or two of laundry while we watched the movie. (sometimes you just can't help being mom and wife).
