#29. check out "happy hour" specials. Some places offer 1/2 price appitizers at certain times and have drink specials, if you're going to drink beer or whatever anyway.

#30. Scout out a restaurant with free refills and share. Red Robin restaurant has bottomless drinks and huge steak fries. You can order a burger and have it split for you; they'll bring out each half wrapped individually in a basket with a bunch of fries. DH and I split a burger and share a drink (one orders a soda, the other water, and we drink from both).
#31. Carry-out picnic. Order your entrees carry-out and eat picnic style. Bring drinks from home.

But I was too excited to look through and find other threads that might have this, and I was afraid I was going to forget!

In our "user friendly phonebook", there is a section in the middle of it with tons of coupons, for restaurants, and services. Last week, My DH and I brought two coupons in with us to Modica Brothers (tire place) and each paid $.99 for a tire rotation, that usually costs almost $20 each. SO we both got our tires rotated and balanced for a little over $2.00 and saved $38. I was so excited about it, it's probably the most frugal thing I have ever done. SO check out your town's phone book and see if there is a similar section for coupons in yours. Of course, most of you probably already know this, so if it's old news then forgive my excitement!

More about #16 (Happy Meals). DS & I were at McD's once & wanted to buy a toy for DD who wasn't with us. The toy alone was almost the price of the meal! So I just bought the Happy Meal as my meal so we could get the toy for DD.

#32 - If you have any food left, ask for a "to go" box. You can also do the same for drinks at most places.

This is a great thread! I almost always ask for a to-go-cup when we are eating out. Even if I am not thristy, I take it home and put it in the fridge for later. They just charge so much for tea or soda, so I don't feel like I am taking advantage. Most places usually give you really big cups too!

In our area, we have goodeatsNH.com--terrific deals on dinners out. Restaurant.com is also a good source.
