No we really do not buy any for ourselves but we do buy good ones for the kids but never pay full price. We do rent a lot of movies though but only the cheaper ones.

I only buy DVD's for the kids, especially all the Disney and holiday one's. We use them the most in the car, I keep a DVD holder with all their favorite movies and then switch them out periodically. We do alot of driving to visit family, so to me the cost of a DVD is worth it!

Sometimes for Christmas or a holiday I will buy DH a DVD, but we just never seem to watch them more than once, such a waste!

i can honestly say we don't even average buying one a year. my kids don't watch alot of tv or movies for that matter. we will be buying the born ultimatum when it comes out then we will own all three and we do watch those multiple times also the transformer movie that came out this summer ds's and dh want that. other than that we just wait until the get to the library. the library we go to buys almost all new release dvd's so i just look them up on line once they announce the release and if they are gonna buy it it's in there system and i can get on the hold list.

I usually buy 1 once a month. There was a time when we did not have cable tv and those were the only things that kept our sanity! With us going throuhg that I still think there maybe a time that I will need to pull them all out so we have some entertainment!
