Restaurants mark up the price of pop considerably. Skip it and ask for water. If you want a little flavoring ask for lemon.

DH and I do this, plus usually we only order 2 meals and share with the 2 little ones. We have never left hungry and usually spend less than 20. Thats so much nicer than when we used to order sodas, appetizers, then meals for every one, bills were between 50-75.00 so i am really happy with the way we do things now

I usually order water when we go to fast food, then I put a splash of lemonade in the water. When you're toting little ones around, it's a lot easier than finding the sliced lemons, besides, you don't know who has touched those lemons!

when we used to order soda with meals, it would fill me up so that i couldn't even finish my dinner. ever since we started ordering water and half- orders or child sized meals, we can feel satisfied and even have a great desert. it's usually only $15 for my husband and i to go out to eat.

We do this, too. Some places charge over 1.50 for a soda! I can get 3 2-liters of WalMart soda for the price of one drink at a restaurant!

I'm not inclined to give up eating out altogether, but these little ideas sure soften the $$ blow from our splurges.
