Do you sneak food/drinks in your purse or do you buy food at the concession stand? Sometimes you end up spending the same amount if not more on food than you did for the movie ticket itself.

i wish there was an in between choice. i've been known to stash candy in my purse, but if i'm thinking popcorn, it's gotta be fresh, extra butter. and we usually buy a soda there, but my husband and i share, and we refill it so often, it probably balances the price out... somewhat! we only go to the movies maybe once a year, though, so i don't feel bad about it.

I guess I am a sneaker! With DH and I, he will insist on buying the overpriced goodies. When just me and the kids, I REFUSE to spend 10 bucks on a medium popcorn and 2 drinks! Sorry - just way too overpriced!

Most often we'll buy pop & popcorn at the concession stand. We get into the theater for free (DH's friends with the manager) so that is our only cost for the trip.

When my husband and I were dating.....we used to take my kid brothers and sister to the movies. We would go to Taco Bell and buy tacos and bean burritos and just drink can sodas from home. We could feed all of us for under $15.00. I would take my big purse and just stash it in there. It was the only way we could afford for all 5 us to go to the movies.

No way would I sneak food in. It just seems wrong to me and I don't want to teach my children that. If you could carry it in openly, then in my book it would be okay. But if you have to sneak, it is wrong. We only go to the movies once every year or two, so I usually let the kiids get a treat.

I'm both.

I sneak in candy/fruit snacks and usually a water or two.

I buy a super large popcorn and sneak in brown lunch bags. Then I divide the popcorn up between us all and usually get a free refill.

We don't go to the movies at all. we are a family of 6 so who in the world could afford that? We have dish so we get all the new movies..we just wait until they come on our TV at home and get comfy on our own couch and eat anything we want and don't have to pay outrageous prices.

Most theaters will give you small cups or small bags for sharing, just ask.

We usually will take in drinks, sometimes candy. But just as often we will buy drinks and candy at the theater. We always buy popcorn. But the biggest reason we take in the drinks is because dh only drinks diet mt dew. So we always bring his drink but usually buy drinks for the rest of us. We only go to the theater as a family a couple times a year, so it isn't a big deal to splurge a little. If it is me and the girls, I will usually stop at Target and get some candy for them.

I honestly don't see a problem with bringing in your own food as long as it isn't excessive and you still buy something at the concession stand. My bf's ex mil used to sneak in microwave popcorn! Now that is excessive!
