We have a membership to the Akron Zoo - which we have also used at the Cleveland Zoo and the Pittsburgh Zoo. It has definitely paid for itself. And with 3 little kids, and a nice and easy excursion. We pack lunches in their lunch boxes and they get so excited about it! And its something fun to do when you are tight on $$$$!

Mymil gives us the membership every year for christmas.. We have a large Safari with giraffs that you can feed ect.. My dds love that we can go for a few hours and go back again. I like that I don't have to spent big$ to get in and feel that we have to stay all day to get our moneys worth. I figured it out that if we got 3.5 times our membership is paid for it's self.

They did change the zoological society rules conserning getting into other zoos. We now have to pay 1/2 to get into BIG zoos. Tampa, Toledo, Pittsburg.. but still that's a bonus for us and I am willing to pay 1/2.

The Pittsburgh Zoo is an awesome zoo - their polar bear exhibit is AWESOME! We've gone there many times. My kids are a little older but we still hit zoos several times a year (still renew the membership year after year) and when they were small, we went all the time. Many zoos have reciprocal memberships, so if you belong to one, you can get in free or get a discount to many other zoos across the nation.
